We're attempting to figure out what the best math is to create a good levelling dynamic. It should be easier for low levels to get higher, and it should be hard for the top of heap to get much higher. The goal is a bell curve, where mid-level players are the most prominent, high level players taper off the higher they get, and low level players are quickly levelled into the middle.
Right now, It seems like we have a dynamic bell curve that shifts forward as it grows, which means newer players have a tougher time as the game progresses. We'll be experimenting with new levelling math as the rounds go by to make sure we have a challenging and fun game.

Ok, now I'm over sixty levels beyond that guy and I still can't kill him. There should be some limits. There should be no way that a person attacking someone sixty levels below them would find it impossible to kill them even once. It defeats the point of trying to get to a higher level... At this rate, it is like there is no advantage at all to getting to higher levels.

Yeah, well what do you get for being number 1 in NW1 lol. I hope it's a pink turtle shell for NW2. Cause that would rock. Also, fix the fighting system already! DOOOOOO IT!

Right now, It seems like we have a dynamic bell curve that shifts forward as it grows, which means newer players have a tougher time as the game progresses. We'll be experimenting with new levelling math as the rounds go by to make sure we have a challenging and fun game. We do have a "dynamic" levelling system. The thing is its for the wrong reason. High levels can only attack opponents which are signifiacantly lower than them, excessively low. I have levelled on the same ninja from levels 70-140, the stat gains between these levels have made minimal difference...I still can't attack any players above 31 without dying almost every time. So while yes, a dynamic leveling curve is good surely it should be harder for the high levels to level for a different reason (Lack of immediate lower levels for xp for instance). The current system is flawed because it takes away any feeling of advance among higher levels, stats feel irreleavent. It also elminiates any kind of rivalry between higher levels as they cannot attack eachother, only level passe eachother.

I agree that there is a major problem with stats, and we are working on it. There is also nothing interesting about combat, we are working on that as well. I agree, the reasons for the challenge are wrong. I think the inability to attack players near your level range is a problem.
None of this escapes us, and neither do your calls for change. We are not ignoring any of your suggestions at all, we're listening, but we can only do so much at a time. We do not intend for this game to be as boring or frustrating as it currently is. We are not happy with the game as it is either. At the end of this month some changes to the game will made public. We will continue development on the game regularly, and hopefully at a faster pace than we have been.

There is no level cap and there will not be. Realize though that the game is played in rounds, so you will regularly be starting from level 1 again. The goal of the round will be to see what you can accomplish each round.
