what do you think about a scroll that completely wipes out %100 of a ninjas inventory? imagine the possibility. we can call it the "shogunassassin". it could be worth 1 million kills. eh? eh??

1 million is practically impossible to get. I say 1000 kills.

It'd be a pain in the ass for other players (people that it got used on) and yet not be much of an advantage for the person who used it, either, so I don't see any especially good reason to do this.

I have an idea for a new scroll. It could be called the "Shroud" scroll. It would be the same as the stealth scroll, except after you attack somebody, you wouldn't become unshrouded. You would stay shrouded for 10 combat initiatives. Also, you would become unshrouded automatically after 2 turns. It could cost 1000 gold in the shop, and would be a good item. Then you could keep the stealth scroll, for the lesser version of it, in case somebody only wanted to be stealthed for a little bit, or something. What do you think? I think it would be awesome.

I like the second idea a whole lot more than the first, the first would just make me pissed off if it was used against me. Then again, I'm perfectly happy with the scrolls now, but a higher level stealth version would be interesting to have.

I like the idea for the new scrolls, but what about my idea? I haven't heard any thoughts about it besides firesword. And yet to hear any staff posts. What do you guys think? Beagle, Tchvalk? I really do think that something that brings somebody back to life would be a good idea too.

Scroll of life: people shouldn't be forced by their enemies to come back to life at unexpected times or over and over again while they're not logged in, once (at midnight) is enough.
Shroud scroll: This method of dealing with the duration of stealth is more like how some things will work in NW2, but not really a method that we can get to work with NW1. On NW1 effects either go away with time, or after a single event makes them stop (like taking the antidote to poison, or blue ninja waiting to unfreeze themselves).
Keep on coming up with ideas, though. I read all the posts, just don't always have the time/energy left to reply to 'em all.

um what about the Poison scroll that could lower any one health to 5

How about a scroll that brings you to full health: the Heavenly Scroll. With the Dim Mak killing anyone within one turn, the Heavenly Scroll heals someone completely. I can be seen as the counterpart of the Dim Mak.

well don't u have the shrine for that. The only use I could see for it would be to give to people who ran out of gold.

Well, Tchvalk. Putting down my ideas. Just kidding. I like smileys...lol. Anyway, I have another idea. What about having the shroud scroll break when somebody puts a bounty of at least 100 gold on you? Not sure, but think about it.

Re: poison scroll: the poison scroll + 1 shuriken would be the same as a Dim Mak, so I don't think that'd be beneficial.
Re: Heavenly Scroll: well, I can see the applications for it (a way to store up hitpoints that gold (since it gets stolen) doesn't allow) but the cost for the thing would have to be very extravagant in order to be balanced, in which wouldn't make it very useful. I don't know, what do other people think about a healing scroll?
Re: ShadowNoa: I try not to put down ideas, 'cause I like getting ideas, gives me new material to consider, but I did want to explain reasons why some of those thing wouldn't work out or are better left for NW2. *smiles*

you have fire and ice how about earth and wind, get all four elements in there and make it so you have to be a certain level to use them that way once you get to that level you have become a master of the elements

i think that a sight scroll would be cool. It would have the same effect of white ninjas, but you could use the cost to balance out the effects.

I like the principal behind a scroll that restors health, however i think the heavenly scroll is a little overpowred. Perhaps if it restored a percentage of hp dependant on a level or there were scrolls of varying power and price.
Natrully the price would have to justify the scroll's benefits over conventional healing (with gold).
As for the sight scroll that is a mint idea ! There have been times when as a blue ninja i have desired to use sight but not had the option. Also note there are scrolls for each of the elements fire- red /ice-blue/ and stealth-black/ which means that white ninjas are the only class to have two unqiue skills.

I like the idea of a heavenly scroll; I would most likely use it quite a few times if I could get my hand on one.

Blue ninjas have two unique skills: extra turn gaining, and cold steal.
Sight scroll isn't going to happen until the classes get a little bit more balanced, the non-blue colors need to keep what lesser advantages they have, for now. Still, I do like the idea of rounding out the idea of four elements, though since we have so many scrolls at this point, I'd look at making the objects be some type other than "scrolls" for variety.

make the wind element a move, that steals gold, or maybe add it to the skill were you check for attack like blaze, but wind makes you faster and take less damage
and the earth element , that steals inventory
maybe huh?

well i would think that the earth and winds are both good ideas but i think that the earth would have a kinda hit ratio so its not some sure fire way to get it because the lower levels would use it on the higher to get their hard worked item (wait why am i going with it then ) but still i think that they would be OK at 10 kill apiece. also about the poison how about instead of lowering health to 5 how about 100?

How bout a scroll that takes someone out of stealth? Ice scrolls and speed scrolls are opposite so those ballance out. But now that there's uber stealth the only thing that can counter it is a dim mak. So maybe if you're talking about elemental scrolls, the wind scroll might pull you out of your stealth.

A scroll that straight up unstealths someone isn't balanced. Consider ice scrolls vs. speed scrolls. If an ice scroll gets used on you, you can counteract it by using a speed scroll, and then you come out even. The whole purpose of stealth scrolls, on the other hand, is to protect you from dying for the time that it is in effect, and if you get pulled out of stealth, you'll be killed moments later. So there's no give and take involved with something that just strips away stealth outright, unless it costs a lot... ...which describes the Dim Mak.
Anyway, I can't remember whether you can poison and sight and blaze and deflect through stealth, but I'll check, and maybe those will be options to circumvent stealth.
