Unfortunately, I have to say that Nintendo needs to get off its ass and steal some of the other two companies' third party support, otherwise it will just be one more Nintendo system with only a few mildly interesting games and a lot of repeats of old favorites.

True 'dat. Of course, the problem I have is that when Nintendo -does- do a game, they do it so that it's -fun-, and so that it's fun to play in a group. Like Super Smash Brothers 1. The game wasn't an amazing display of visuals and shiny pixels, it was just FUN, with old-school characters to back it up.
Sometimes Playstation games focus so much on the visuals that they completely forget that the point of the game is to enjoy playing it. If I wanted to sit back and watch the plot move on without me, I'd just rent a movie.
Besides, playing Playstation's hoard of single-player games... ...meh, waste of time. There's lots of more productive things to get done. Playing multi-players games, now that is time I'm willing to waste.

Man, though, I really wish that Nintendo -did- have all of the game developers working for it that PS does. Well, I take that back, all they'd need is Square-Enix or whatever they're calling themselves these days.

I'm just cheap and have the Playstation and Playstation2, but I also only have a few games. I mostly just play Crash Bandicoot or Rally Cross since I finished the Final Fantasy games I have. Then on my PS2 I just have random shooters, fighters and race games that I play with others. I stick to a small range of games sadly.
