We did a lot of things wrong with the first game. The message board is one of those things.
We are getting rid of this message board entirely in favor of a message board hosted on our own servers. Why? Because we can't manually move threads like you're asking. We don't have access to the message board internals with this service, and it bothers us.
As for keeping the old game, also probably not going to happen. I know people are attached, but we're confident once you see version 2, you'll never look back.
Now, we've thought about the fact that changing message boards and making a new game will just bother people because they'll have to sign up for so many things, and this is the current proposal:
NinjaWars 2 is being developed by my company, which is currently in the middle of being created. We're going to have an actual game company and it will own NInjaWars 2. Our company plans on making more games. We want players of NinjaWars 2 to be able to try these other games without needing to sign-up over and over again. So, by signing up for any game, you'll create both a game account and a global account. The global account will allow you signup for new games without having to register, you can just login and it will automatically see you have a global account and BAM! you're in.
Now, with this idea in mind, we also want to host the message boards on our server and integrate them with our service. Using the global account idea, the global account allows you to use the message board without having to sign up again. Your NinjaWars 2 account will be used when you post in the NW2 forums, and your avatar and stats will be displayed in that forum. If you post in the forum for another game, the same thing happens, or if you don't play that game, but want to post anyway, you'll just be labelled as a guest.
So we're trying very hard to make this easier on everyone, not harder. What do you think?
