NinjaWars 2 Beta 1 is now officially live! play.ninjawars2.com/It's quite a fragile beta still, and there's a lot of features missing. If anyone still remembers the post where I set out what would be in the first beta, well, we didn't make it to that level. But we got world navigation, basic combat, and a sweet new chat system. Not to mention the awesome gui we've developed. Anyway, many many many hundreds of thousands of thanks go out to our friends and families who are sick and tired of us working so hard, our players who are sick and tired of us taking so long, and everyone else who has helped us get to this point: releasing our first game from design to beta testing. It's a great accomplishment for everyone on the team. And here's a minor credits thing, it will get official sometime later. Thank you and congratulations to, no particular order: Al Chris Ryan Rob Roy Brenna Mike and everyone else that helped along the way but didn't stay with us. Please, enjoy NinjaWars 2 safely and responsibly! More features will be coming in the next beta release, so stay tuned! --Beagle

Sooooo, once people have checked out the new parts of the Beta, one of the main tasks of Beta testing will be to report bugs that we have with the beta, and there's going to be a lot of 'em for us to keep track of. We've set up the open source program called "Bugzilla" to help us track the bugs, and hope that you players will enter bugs as you find them into that system. The system is accessable at [Bugs.NinjaWars2.com] using the login name "guest@ninjawars2.com" and the password "guest". There are two things that are most important when entering a bug: Be very descriptive about exactly what is broken, and tell us exactly what browser and browser version you were using when the bug happened. To find out your browser version, go to the browser menu "Help" and then down to "About <name of browser>". Then put the browser name and browser version number into the bug in bugzilla.
We'll make that a field in bugzilla in the future. If you're dedicated to catching all the bugs in NW2, and want an actual account on bugzilla, feel free to email NinjawarsTchalvak@gmail.com to request one.
Oh, and of course, there's an option to make things have a priority of "request", meaning it's not a bug, it's a feature request. Not that we'll be dealin' with that for a bit, but that'll be the place to start putting them in once we've got other things out of the way.

More Beta Stuff.
First, a formal introduction. I'm Rob aka suavisimo, I guess officially I'm the systems programmer (I guess beagle would be the technical programmer...I dunno it doesn't matter)
I built several of the components that are currently in Beta, the 2 big ones being Ikuro and the Player List. (Concepts are done by someone else, but we all do everything, so don't think the lines of demarcation are set)
We hope you all have fun with the beta. Please, please, please help us out by using the bug tracker, posting stuff on the forums, developing the wiki, sending PMs or whatever you would like to do in order to help us grow, learn and make NW2 fun for you.
Also, along with mentioning to freely help us, please also understand we are human, and we do this purely in our free time. So don't jump off the handle if something is broken 100%. Take the proper means to explain to us the situation and we'll do our best to fix it.
Again, thanks for your dedicated support and enjoy!

I have been a ghost with the NW1 world, so I think I should introduce myself too. I'm Chris, I'm the Chief Content Developer, but honestly, I'm still trying to figure out what that title means. I tell ya, I'm in charge of margaritas, that's for sure. But in NW2, I work on things like building the world and all that jazz, handling our press page at ninjawars2.com, and I take care of some design and artwork concerns too. Anyway, just to follow up briefly on what the team has been saying, NW2 is the result of a long while's work and we're damn proud to be pushing it along. There's lots to come and we're all pretty excited! Also, we realize there will be issues, big and small, and ask for your patience with us as we bound ahead (or inch forward ... or, ok, maybe backwards at times). We sincerely thank you for that patience. In return, we will do our best to listen to your concerns/feedback and respond. The only thing I want to add to what's been said above is that while we are always here on the messageboards, we've also set up a direct line - CatchPhrase.Games (at) gmail (d0t) com - for other issues (once we've secured our domain, that address will change). We're going to start migrating all PM's for NW1 to email, but at present you may use either (if you have an issue for which you should be PM'ing Tchalvak or Beagle, you may still use messageboard PM's). Predictably, we ask that for NW1 issues you continue to check these forums when looking for help with something specific (ex: "what does an ice scroll do?") because that will be quicker for you. For NW2, these forums will be your best resource until the FAQ is available on the press page ( FAQ). But for feedback, concerns, ideas, comments, questions that are directed toward the studio instead of the players, feel free to use CatchPhrase.Games (at) Gmail (dot) com. See you in NW2! -c
