"tchalvak: *shrugs* tchalvak: check out the staff page and it shows changes as I make them (as opposed to as they come in, which only happens every periodic release) tchalvak: RE: "Balsac: the game just needs someone actively making /working on changes. " Uh, yes? That would be me, if that's what you mean."
i sorry i know that sounded harsh i didnt mean it to, im just sayin you just one dude, i think you could use a team working on different areas of the game, i know thats what that open source thing was about but the activity of the players has dropped alot and i dont know what to do help. i like it here its always been a pretty good place to kill time with a dial up connection, i know you work hard on the game but sometimes i just think its to much for one person with so much on their plate already, my constructive critism is blunt sometimes but i dont want you to think im downing you or the game its great, just frustrating sometimes haha

Well, alot of the problem is "knowledge", so to speak. Right now, anyone with enough coding ability could contribute. I don't think that a lot of the people who do play NW have it, per se. Until the game gets up steam, I don't think that that is going to change. So the result is that I end up coding whatever I think is needed next, or stuff that I want to try out for myself, I can't really keep on top of feature requests so well. If you want to see a silly list of "TODO"s for NW, here: github.com/tchalvak/ninjawars/blob/master/docs/TODO.txtSo it's not like I don't have plans, just don't have time, especially. Maybe someday make is so that people can spend money on things in ninjawars or donate or something, which would make me able to rationalize a little more time spent away from my real job, but until then, I just put time towards it while I can. Anyway, part of the whole deal is that the ability to modify ninjawars is out there, it's open source, suggestions for the web pages are already there, not many people with coding ability really want to get into it, for whatever reasons, so you guys will just have to keep making suggestions on the forum and I'll make changes when I can get the time.

my apologies for not taking up the code thus far...
the idea of ninja based/text based death match is very cool tho i think levels and power/connection disparity "break" the spirit of the game. i'll make an effort to read into your ideas, and find more useful ways to contribute (beyond trying to find new ways to brainwash people into coming here, despite them being used to fancy ass cookie-cutter rpgs like wow)

Consider that TODO to be a running brainstorm. If you're interested in one idea or another, start a topic about it here on the forum and we can flesh it out more. *shrugs*
Far as contributing, I'm just trying to get across the concept that there are different ways to contribute at different levels. Bringing new people in to NW is certainly one thing that benefits the game, though I personally am not looking to pursue that on a large scale quite yet. There are also things that could be done with creating alternate color schemes, or making certain pages look better, or fleshing out the info on the wiki, beyond just the more difficult task of getting into the code itself. *shrugs* So there are options available.
