hmmm, not great. We've been trying to reduce this problem. We'll make some changes and we'll see what happens.

One thing to try is to refresh your cache (Ctrl-F5 or Ctrl-R, try both). Caching is pretty much the only thing that has changed in the past few days.
If it's not that, it might just be an issue with the chat refreshing. One thing that i do recommend trying is using the google chrome browser, that'll probably make a lot of sites faster.
Beyond that, perhaps you could give us some sense of -what- part of the site is reacting most slowly? Chat? Quickstats? The ninja list? Combat? What part loads last, and what browser are you using?

Lag has been an issue in the past, prior to the caching problem. I think it's an issue with the amount of memory on the current server. I've acquired another server, and I'm working on some configuration changes, but I think we're just going to move over to the new server with more resources and see what happens.

it's entirely possible that anyone could d.o.s. the server enough to cause lag, and merely by speeding myself or tabbing up a page, yes i probably cause others to experience this. i won't name names, but i have had this game crap out at the best possible time, for specific ninja to come out of nowhere and kill me while i watch things not load. all the while i can tab up google or something heavier and see that load fine. this game it seems is the sole website in the whole world that screws with my internet connection, and only when i'm not the only one on. what a strange coincidence...
having recently reformatted my cpu, to get rid of bot-net shit, a keylogger, rootkit and who knows what other junk, i now can't help but wonder why firefox keeps asking to update only when i play ninja wars and only when other ninjas (presumably the same user) are about. seems kinda odd no?

13, in your case if you see this "update" thing on ninjawars, take a screenshot and toss me an email with it. Probably more likely to be the virus/adware stuff that you got on your machine, though. I do advise usin' adaware and spybot as well as an antivirus.
As for the lag, I've modified the chat frequency to update less frequently, maybe that'll help (it was set to be frequent enough that it was causing problems for the server as well, anyway).
I'm going to try to set it up so that you can turn off the mini-chat if you're experiencing lag, might take me a while, though.
