Ok, before the wish list thread becomes a discussion about the bank, I'd like to start a new thread specifically for this feature.
I think the problem with the bank is that if you can hide your money away, then people attacking you don't get any money.
But, one suggestion I heard that seemed good is a deposit minimum. Somethng like you need 500 gold to make a deposit, and if not, you have to hold on to your money until you get that much.
Now, I have a slightly modified version that I think would work well, you tell me what you think.
A growing minimum deposit. If you have 0 in the bank, your minimum deposit is 50. If you have 50 in the bank, your minimum is 100, if you have 100 in the bank your minimum is 200. I think we could possibly make the curve a little less steep than that, but what are your thoughts on a bank that works that way?

Interesting that several players found this feature important but didn't comment on my idea j/k I just had another thought about the bank though. What if it was subject to robbery by the dreaded "Ninja Thieves"!? So you put your money in the bank, but it's not a guarantee that it's safe. This doesn't directly solve the problem of players not getting rewarded for killing, but I'm about to start an economy thread about that. Your thoughts about the bank would be appreciated. --Woof

yo dude... think the deposit thingy is logical and sound.
i mean, if you go up in level, and wat not, you should need more money to put into the bank... or when you already have more money in the bank...
but, I would say, maybe let the lower levels.. like 1 to 3, get some protection from thieves... and maybe higher levels can have some special features like paying for insurance of their money... either money or turns or items... and maybe that would be nice...
err... did i make any sense?

Yeah ;D Insurance is an interesting idea. At the moment I'm inclined away from it though, just because it seems unnecessary. There will be ways of getting "bank robbed" money back from the thieves. Can't say anymore about that though --Woof

he he i love this thread it has everything I've dreamed of about a bank but with an added twist. A NPC that is rare to find but take gold from the bank. each time they take gold it stacks formt he last time so once the lucky bastered that finds and kills this npc gets all of that npc's bank looting go them. A sorta lottery to a point and the winner gets an ass load of gold. but lets leave it to the forums to decide

a new scroll takes about 10 minutes if your slow to make. I've already scripted out a new weapon that will hopefully be put in. This is asking whether or not people like the idea of player banks that someone could work on. i'm trying to make it so that if you have a big chuck of gold u don't have to spend it all at once just to protect yourself from attacks.

well the reason i dont think the bank is a good ideal yet is that there is no reason to really keep gold, we dont have a stronghold or anything to build defensives hire guards or anything, any extra gold can just be put into speeds or something

the only problem is that youd get all the clan members grabbing for the stuff as soon as it comes in... If the clan leader could decide on a set amount that each member is allowed to withdraw, and to have a password for the bank that each player has to enter just in case a member is hacked and someone takes the contents of the bank and sends it to their player/players clan

Well, jus' to get some feedback about one plan:
Here's my thoughts on how I'd do it:
Clans (and only clans) are able to store money for you. (more fun interaction that way) You'd have a small, limited account that you could put only a set amount of gold into & out of. There would also be a huge general account shared among the whole clan. It would work like this: If you put in money, it would increase the power of the clan with respect to fun things like clanhall, clan guards, buildings, other little features of the clan as they got coded. Donation -into- the clan would not have any limits, and would increase your in-clan rank to a certain point. Withdrawing money would be limited by: (total amount clan has)/(members), updated on a weekly basis or so.
And, eventually, clans would be able to be raided by enemy clans in different ways for that money.
Anyway, that's just a rough idea for the starting point, the process start off with relatively simple clan banking and then develop clans so that more stuff could be done with the money, like paying guards, buying clanhall buildings, etc.

once the multiplayer problem is fixed i see it as a good ideal or make it so only the clan leader and/ or some day a coleader can handle the gold and upgrades so some smuck doesnt make a new account join your clan and screw things up by stealing shit or doing things with the bank savings you dont want
