Hi everyone, This was prompted by a request to get gold from items as well as reworking the stealthed combat system a little bit, and I'd like to get your feedback.
Right now on the test server, there are different gold returns for killing in different ways. Here's the break-down:
Stealthed Kill: 10% reward+ no kill point Item Kill: 15% reward Single-Attack Kill: 20% reward Duel Kill: 25% reward
The reason for the stealthed kill setup is because it's a dirty, underhanded way of killing someone, and since you're hiding your identity, you won't be recognized, nor would you want to be. Also, the 10% gold reward on a stealthed kill is to make anonymous murder even less appealing.
The reason for the item kill reward is that using an item implies attacking from a distance. It's less risky, and therefore should be less rewarding.
Same reasoning for duels and single-attack kills. Duels are more risky than taking your time in between attacks to heal. So the reward more accurately assess the risk.
What is everyone's reaction to this system?

I think that's a great idea. I do however wish there were better ways to make money. I've killed so many inactive players so many times and get 0 gold. It doesn't make the kill anymore rewarding. Maybe if that samurai gets out it would make it more rewarding to kill someone and get gold. I know I'm going a little off the subject but are you going to clean up the inactive players. There are so many people that haven't logged in, in so long. I know usually the active people are killing so you could get money from them (even if it's just 1 piece of gold.)

the reward system is excellent...but nadz rite ....too many unactive players .. the active ones are very little and if they are active for a motnh or two then theyll get bored and stop playing..
some new stuff gota be created....the casino idea was goood ...but needs to be elaborated upon...how about an e;lder wise ninja that will give u something if u pay him a visit everyday.. (items turns money....)

Ok, I get the idea that the economy is struggling in game because we have too much player churn. That's something that will slowly improve as we begin to retain more players. And more player retention will come as we improve the game.
But! I do hear your cries for a more stable NPC economy. I will think about possible solutions. I'm glad to hear that the gold reward system sits well with you.
So, onward with the progress and keep the comments coming ;D
