I'm not gonna tell y'all -how- to get 'em, other than that you have to be at least level 15.
Plus, of course, they cost your soul.
EDIT: they currently cost 20 kills, and you can get 'em after you reach level 10, if not earlier.

I think the Dim Mak scrolls are too weak. Here's my reason: the main purpose for Dim Mak scrolls for me is to kill people that I usually can't kill. That are the highlevel ninjas. I don't think the cost of the Dim Mak is worth it, because the highlvls usually have a lot of kills, so when I use a Dim Mak scroll they can easily resurrect, can't they? I think a Dim Mak scroll should also have a sort of "frozen" effect. So that they can't resurrect immediately. (you can do the frozen part so that they can't resurrect immediately or after their ressurection) Doing this will make buying a Dim Mak scroll worth it. (I don't like the idea that I have to make effort when the one I kill can resurrect a few seconds later after I used the scroll)

Just wondering, my good friend wooting obtained a dim mak scroll at the cost of 20 kills...Yet he is level 11. So is there a level requsit of 15 at all ?

I personally like the dim mak scrolls. in retrospect, one dimmak optimally gives a ninja about 25 speed scrolls. each scroll,5 turns. 125 turns. thats enough turns for any medium ninja to make back on. also, its a cleaner kill. ninjas bith 5k bountys wont be as p o'd when its just one email sayin how a dimmak was used rrather than 45 shurikens.

Actually, I dropped the level requirement down lately, might be 10 now, can't remember the exact number that I brought it down to. And yeah, cost is 20 kills, so the option to get one doesn't even show up unless you have those 20 kills.
Anyway, in response to the Dim Mak post, currently the Dim Mak is kinda a fun thing that you can have to use for special occasions. It's a trick, a cheat, and not something that can really be part of the mainstream, 'cause it's an insta-kill. Allowing it to have a freeze effect gives it more of an actual purpose, but the fact that it prevents other players from being able to play is also kinda an unwanted effect. There'd have to be a lot more deliberation and discussion of alternative ideas before I'd be willing to consider doin' that.

Ohh, I thought you guys were serious about the Dim Mak scroll. I didn't know it was meant as a trick. I was all thinking about how I could use it efficiently, but I couldn't think up anything.

Uh, you may be misunderstanding what I'm saying.
We (ninjawars staff) are not trying to trick you when you get a Dim Mak.
It's just that Dim Maks -cannot- be an "efficient" way of killing an opponent, ever. Because if they were, since they kill instantly, there would never be any reason to do anything else (attack, use shurikens, use fire scrolls).
Consider the Dim Mak something expensive to use only for special occasions. I'm still thinking about the added applications for it, and would be happy to hear more ideas about special things to do with it, but until then it's just a strange little quirk to spice up the game.

No, I get you. It's just that you said it was a trick and I sort of confirmed it. Here is a quote from you, Tchalvak, a few posts above this one:"Anyway, in response to the Dim Mak post, currently the Dim Mak is kinda a fun thing that you can have to use for special occasions. It's a trick, a cheat, and not something that can really be part of the mainstream, 'cause it's an insta-kill." See? You used the word "trick" and I just copied so you knew what I meant, but that didn't work. But I'll go thinking about cool skills, effects and items, ciao.

Three changes to Dim Mak to make them more useful...
First, Dim Mak now lets you steal away almost all of takes one of the highest amounts of money from the person that you kill. (It leaves 'em a little.)
Secondly, Dim Maks can now be used while stealthed, and it won't cause you to unstealth.
Third, Dim Maks are now the only way to kill a stealthed player.
EDIT: Dim Maks take away the same amount of money as dueling, until more discussion on how to balance them occurs.
