For some reason, ice scrolls had the potential to take away the rediculous amount of 15 turns, I toned that down to a maximum of 5 turns, so they're about 1/3rd as effective as they were, but I'm sure that y'all can just get more to make up for that.

yeah i agree with Nick. The ice scrolls are useless now. Those were a good way for lower level people to defend themselves against higher levels. Thats what i did until i got to a higher level. The max could at least be changed to 8 or even 10.

I agree. the LEAST you could have done was DISCUSS IT with the players themselves. God Forbid you get our input!

I'm sorry about that. Tchalvak also apologies over the phone, as he's on vacation. Tchalvak should have consulted with the players (and me) before making that change. I've changed it back for the time being, and we can discuss if the ice scrolls are overpowered in their current form or not. Again, sorry about that. Tchalvak and I will discuss making changes more known to players before they happen.

If you want to take some of the "power" away from ice scrolls then make them remove a set number of turns. But just as a reminder, ice scrolls are basically the only defense in this game aside from health. Now that dim maks are abound, health is no longer a threat. So personally I'd suggest leaving ice scrolls as is. Unless you intend to make stealth scrolls useful as a means of defense, seeing as how you can still use items on a stealthed person. Anyway, that's just my little rant about ice scrolls.

I thought Tchalvak fixed that problem and now you can longer use items on a stealthed ninja, except if the item is a dim mak....

Aaaaand I'm back. Let's see... Yes, I messed up with the ice scrolls change. While I was looking at the code I was thinking of the ice scroll as weighing in at an overpowered 15 turns per use, but I failed to think about the fact that with the randomness thrown in it'd only average out as a 7 or 8 turns each time. There's actually currently three ways to deal with fighting someone in real-time: Defensive: Stealth -and then wait until your opponent gets distracted by something else. (and, depending upon what you want to do next, attack or avoid 'em) Or use Dim Maks. Cost: 1 stealth scroll, 150 gold. Offensive: Use ice scrolls to rob them of their turns. (and hope that they don't get you down to zero first) Cost: At an average of 7.5 turns per ice scroll, it might take from 7 to 10 to 15 ice scrolls to take away between 60 and 100 of someone's remaining turns, for a total cost of 875 to 2,000 gold. Give-and-take, war of attrition: Both parties just attack and heal, die and resurrect, whoever loses interest first loses? cost: The look on your enemy's face: Cost: Priceless. (couldn't resist) Anyway, the point is that the Offensive, ice-scroll method -should- be costly, because it's not just ending the fight, it is also killing a players' ability to play for that day (turns). And to me, 15 turns seems too much to be able to take away with one ice scroll. So here's what I propose: Instead of changing the -average- amount that ice scrolls will take away (7.5), I'd like to cut out the randomness of it altogether, and just make ice scrolls take away 7 turns each time. It'd get rid of the randomness and makes sure that it takes effort to take away someone else's turns (requiring 15 ice scrolls to completely wipe out someone who was at 100 turns).

how bout this tchal, treat the ice scrolls like cold steal, they have potential to take 15 turns but may also backfire...whattya think? fire scrolls burn like a red, stealth stealths like a black, ice should be treated like a blue skill, an while whe're on it, how bout some sort of sight scroll "gives you the ability to peer into another ninjas soul and see his stats" for the white ninja? hmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Like I said, what I'm suggesting isn't really a tone-down of ice scrolls, it just makes them both more reliable, and less effected by good luck and bad luck.
Though, now that I consider it, the average should actually be 8, since that's what the average actually calculates out to be for the range of 1-15.
Anyway, I don't care too much about whether or not ice scrolls get altered because as I originally said, the only reason I thought the maximum needed toning down before was because of a miscalculation. And there's a lot of other stuff that needs dealing with. *shrugs*

so what about a sight scroll? seriously, whites are the only class that doesnt have a scroll associated with them, and I pesronally like the advantage of gaining more turns right, but I would spend gold to have the opportunity to see an opponents stats.
