so, theoricaly, this is what is going to be present in the new version of ninjawars...unless i have read the whole "ninjawars2 development" board too fast... Clans: * NPC Guards * A treasury for each clan * Only some indivduals allowed to have clans...to prevent everyone in the game from having a clan * Options to Inflitrate, sabotage or assasinate Tournaments: * The 3 strongest players from a clan * prizes for the winner(s)..(raised stats, gold..) Weapons and armor * weapon bonuses augment the players stats * three different kinds of weapons (piercing, slashing and blunting) * armor related to ninja stuff Healing * No more shrine * Healing potions and/or tacky medicines used instead of shrine Levelling * use of experience points instead of kill points * more skills gained as the player levels Some other stuff *The game will be based on a "Round" system (a reset of the game once in a while) * More stats introduced * Dojo used to increase some of these stats * no more ninja colors (then what?) this is basically what ive read .. its there anything else..or something that added by mistake here?

This is under discussion currently. We are now leaning towards players who are currently housed in the guild hall being used as the defenders of that hall. The size of the hall determines the number of players able to be housed at once, so some clan members may have to brave the streets on their own until the clan can afford to buy more housing for them. Espionage is actually going to be an alternate route of advancement alongside combat, and assassination will be the hybrid path of both combat and espionage. Tournaments will not be exclusively for clans. Any individual may enter the tournament. However, a clan may enter the tournament by choosing 3 members to compete and barring all other members from participating. If all 3 members of the clan finish in the top 3, then the clan will be rewarded as well as the individual players. Weapons are still a bit vague. Not sure we want to worry about the different types of damage different weapons do. The way we currently are seeing it, there will be a variety of combat moves, and weapons will either make them more effective or less effective. Example: A jump kick while wielding a katana is less effective due to the katana's weight and effect on balance. However, wielding a katana allows you to execute combat moves involving swords. The shrine isn't completely abolished. We think that the shrine should still exist but be less effective than it currently is. We are looking at varying degrees of healing ability in shrines as you travel, so the shrine in the low level town will not heal a high level player to maximum. That said, we also do not want players to be able to heal at the shrine in the middle of combat or during an espionage attempt. But healing, may be necessary, so providing a limited number of healing items that can be used while taking some actions will be useful to players. Also, as noted above, more methods of gaining experience than just combat. We think this will provide players with many opprotunities to enjoy NW2 over and over. The world will age and as one generation of Ninja fade into the shadows, a new generation of Ninja will take their place and keep the world turning. Stats will be used to open up new abilities and augment current ones. More strength allows more powerful moves and makes your current moves do more damage. More speed allows faster moves and makes your current moves faster. Etc. We will still have classes, we are just looking for the best way to define them. Animals? Colors? Ancestry? This flavor is still being worked out but is less important than developing a balanced and fun game. If it turns out we can't come up with any good ideas, then maybe we'll just go back to colors. But either way, expect a great game to be coming your way! --Woof

On the topic of weapons:
I think that weapons should have these simple effects:
They look cool in your profile.
If you don't have any weapons, any skills that depend upon them (which will probably be a substantial number) become unusable.
If you die inside some location, you lose your weapons at the location of your death. (So maybe inside a clan that you were infiltrating, or during a quest)
So if you have weapons, you don't need to worry about them, but if you lose them, you need to buy/get youself some more immediately.
End of uses/purposes for weapons.
On the topic of armor:
Maybe a certain type of armor/clothing/whatever is required to be stealthy effectively. And if you have it, you can be stealthy, or disguised, or whatever. But if you don't, then you can't be as stealthy. Or use stealthy skills, or something like that.

So our old name wont be transferred to the new ninja wars???
and there should be like weapons rusting if not cleaned at a given time, like a week or 2 weeks, and armour resistance against certain ninjas, so everyone will have an advantage over certain kind of ninjas

Just a quick question. I don't know if its been asked yet but will there be a clan page one the site or only by way of links to ones we create? Just a simple clan page would be very helpful for recruiting and establishing both clan rules and a list of allies/enemies for example.

ninjassail: I can't give you a time. We're working on it. We all have other things in our lives that take up time, like jobs, school, relationships, family. You're right, you've been waiting a long time. So have we. We're trying our best to get it out sooner rather than later. Bear with us.
captainnoob: We are planning on serious improvements to the clan system in NW2. Better rosters, special management features like leadership positions, voting, etc. It makes sense to add some kind of document manager for clan leaders to post rules and guidelines so that members can read them. I'm not sure if that specific feature will get in for the launch, but with the new round based system, we'll be able to add improvements a lot faster with a lot less bugs. If you want, post some ideas in a clan specific NW2 development thread.
