[glow=red,2,300]I think when ninja wars 2 comes out, the lvling up system should be thrown out. I think a new system should be made so that noobies have a chance. I mean a person who sign up, after this game has been out for 1 year will be like, I'm never going to be on the top, and when I get to lvl 20, everybody will be like 50.
Having a system like this would encourage more people to play, because noobs can easily catch up or at least have a good fighting chance.[/glow]

Hi there.. I do agree that newbies are at great risk from higher level players preying on them... and I do mean prey.
But how else can the leveling system change?
Maybe protection from being attacked more than 5 times by the same person in a short span of time?
My take is, the idea of kills should be that one gets more incentives/advantages or whatever from killing higher levels or same level players. I mean, this is Ninjas.. there really isn't much honor among ninja clans... they are the spies, assasins and they use whatever means to succeed in their missions.
So... maybe a sort of protection like camouflage or what.. changing the leveling up system... maybe make it harder for players to increase their level by killing lower level players... for example.. level 5 killing level 1?
what say you?

Well, as has been discussed elsewhere, what we've decided is that changing the current levelling system would be too disruptive to the community at this time and therefore the game will continue as is for now.
However, we do recognize the problem that lower level players have and have decided to change the levelling system for NW2. You can see the thread in the NW2 Development forum about the Experience Point System to learn more.
But, that's not actually all of the solution. Similar to Shurato's idea about camoflauge, we have come up with another way to protect lower level players in NW2. We will be having multiple towns in the game that require travelling to get to. So instead of everyone living in the same village, we will have a village everyone starts in, a town, a city, and a capital. Each will have names of course to make this idea a little cooler.
The different cities represent different levels of affluence and ability. The dojo in the village will only have enough ninja trainers to provide training up to a certain level. Once you reach that level, you can no longer learn from the ninja trainers, as you are now their equals, or close to it. In order to continue your training, you must travel to a new dojo, and seek new trainers with more expertise. Of course, you could always come back from a town and kill lower levels, but for the most part, players will engage in the combat that gives them the most experience with the most convenience. If travelling between the village and the town takes 20 - 30 turns, it will discourage players from travelling back and forth to prey on young victims.
And of course, we have the bounty system, which right now isn't completely effective in deterring low-level "farming" but seems to have had some good effect on it. In NW2, we will be tweaking the bounty system to try to maximize that effectiveness.
I hope this answer is adequate. If you have any misgivings about how this will work out, or see some obvious flaw that we over looked, please keep the comments coming. Thanks for playing NinjaWars!

That is great news... maybe I should switch to the NW2 development page... but one last thing... GREAT JOB.. it is getting more interesting and fun.
I really think the idea of having a bigger playing ground, like capitals, towns and villages a great way to develop the game. At least it gives depth and somewhere to travel.
Ok... onto the NW2 page

I believe that the system of less experience for killing lower levels will pretty drastically solve the newbie farming issue, myself.
Of course, it'll depend upon the level vs. reward, but if you're level 10 and you can attack someone of the same level and get the equivalent of 10 kills now (for example) are you going to waste your turns on lots of low levels? Probably not.
But we'll see if it's still an issue. Competition will certainly get more interesting with experience.
Huzzah to NWII !
